Update: The wildfire near Bamberton has been contained and crews are on scene today mopping up.

The Coastal Fire Centre now reports the Mill Bay fire has grown to 1.5 hectares and is burning on both sides of the highway.
Northbound Malahat traffic is being redirected off the highway onto Shawnigan Lake Road, causing delays, while southbound traffic is getting through slowly.
The fire is burning along both sides of the highway near the Bamberton exit. Fire officials said it originated around Trowsse Road near Bamberton Provincial park.
26 firefighters have been dispatched to the wildfire as well as air tankers and two helicopters.
