Each year, the city of Victoria rallies to raise money at the BC Children’s Hospital Foundation Festival of Trees.  Sponsors get creative to decorate trees and Victorians cast their vote in favour of their favourite, while donating to this wonderful cause.

Most of us know stories of how the BC Children’s Hospital has touched the lives of people in our community and Victoria Buzz are proud to support such a valuable fundraiser.

This year marks the festival’s 25th anniversary and to celebrate, it is even bigger than previous years, with two fantastic locations full of beautiful trees.

Both The Bay Centre and The Empress Hotel will be hosting the Festival of Trees from November 17th, 2016 – January 5th, 2017.

Voting is easier than ever with the Text-to-Vote voting option.  Each tree has a sign displaying it’s code, so that visitors can text their vote to 45678.  Or, if you’d rather just donate, text “TREE” to 45678 to use the festival’s Text-to-Donate feature.

Last year more than 15,000 votes were cast and participants raised over $138,000, but it is expected that this year’s event may reach $200,000!

Help share the magic about the festival on your social media channels and get event updates by using and following the hashtag #FOTYYJ.
