The eighth annual Social Media Camp is coming up on May 3 and 4 at the Victoria
Conference Centre.
The event has a strong following of delegates and speakers who return year-after- year for some very good reasons. Here are just five of them.

1- There’s Literally Something for Everyone

Social Media Camp is Canada’s largest social media conference. There are more than
50 speakers this year that will present relevant sessions for small businesses,
corporations, charities and government. Though business and marketing is a major draw
for many social media “campers”, the conference continues to have an overall focus on

communities.

Canadian perspective.
There are also speakers from Ireland, Thailand, China and India who will provide insight
into reaching global audiences through social media. This is a can’t-miss opportunity to
hear from and connect with some of the most influential digital leaders from around the
world.

3 – Get Ahead of Coming Trends

Leading experts at this year’s event are always ahead of the curve. They’ll share their first-hand knowledge about how to navigate social media platform changes and take advantage of trends. Whether it’s the next update to expect on your Facebook timeline, little-known facts about LinkedIn or how to use live video tools to reach your audience more effectively, you’ll be in-the- know.

4 – One-on- One Coaching

A team of Social Media Camp coaches are all lined up to provide a “guided tour” of the
conference agenda, their advice about which sessions are most relevant to you and how
to get the most out of the conference experience. This year there are professionals that
cover hospitality and tourism, entertainment and media, small business and non-profit,
government and community, c-suite executive, business level web development and
education. Coaches provided one-on- one sessions in advance of Social Media Camp
and a great introduction to the Social Media Camp community.

5 – Networking with Hundreds of Delegates

More than 600 delegates are expected to attend Social Media Camp in 2017 and there are many opportunities to network. Speakers, delegates and sponsors run the gamut from locals to those visiting from other parts of BC and Canada as well as international visitors. Many longstanding friendships, deals and partnerships have started over coffee, drinks or lunch in the past seven years.
