The man accused in the death of West Shore RCMP Cst. Sarah Beckett last April has pleaded guilty at the Western Communities Courthouse Thursday morning.

Kenneth Jacob Fenton, 28, pleaded guilty to impaired driving causing death and dangerous driving causing death.

Fenton was facing a total five charges stemming from the April 5, 2016, crash that killed 32-year-old Const. Sarah Beckett.

According to CTV, it is expected the crown will stay three other charges including flight from police causing death.

Beckett, a wife and mother of two, was killed when Fenton’s truck slammed into her police cruiser in the early morning hours at the intersection of Peatt Road and Goldstream Avenue in Langford.

Beckett’s husband issued a statement last month saying that he and his family were frustrated by the lengthy delays after several scheduled hearings had been pushed back.
