Police seek suspect after a man was attacked with knife in Duncan

A 30-year old Duncan man is trying to figure out what provoked a man to attack him and hold him at knife point on Thursday night.

The North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP are wondering the same thing and are hoping someone is able to shed some light on this attack.

The Duncan resident was confronted by a First Nations man in his early 20s in the area of Cairnsmore and Cavell Streets at approximately 11:30pm.

The man accused the victim of assaulting him before attacking him and threatening him with a knife.

The victim was able to fight off his attacker, sustaining a cut to his hand in the process.

Police were unable to locate the suspect and are asking the public for their assistance in this matter.  Stated Cpl. Krista Hobday.

The suspect is described as having a very round face, shaggy shoulder-length dark hair and was wearing a flat brimmed hat, flipped up, and a dark blue or grey jacket.
