Get the pool ready for unseasonably hot temperatures to kick off the start of September.
A special weather statement issued by Environment Canada warns residents in Greater Victoria that hot temperatures will persist beginning Friday through at least Tuesday when the new school year begins.
The weather agency said these conditions are expected due to an unseasonably strong ridge of high pressure over the province.
Temperatures will push into the low 30s by Sunday for areas away from the immediate coast.
The airmass will also become quite stagnan under this weather pattern, bringing the possibility that wildfire smoke from the B.C. Interior could continue to move our way.
