Skateboarder hit by a vehicle in downtown Victoria

Share

A woman was skateboarding down a crosswalk when she was hit by a vehicle on Sunday.

The incident occurred at around 1 p.m. on the crosswalk at Johnson and Broad Streets.

According to VicPD, she was moving fairly quickly, and has been taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries and perhaps a broken leg.

“People really need to be careful when they are entering crosswalks and make sure that there is accountability on both the motorist and pedestrians,” Sgt. Kari Cochrane told CTV. “In order for everybody to come out safe, everybody needs to pay attention.”

An investigation into the accident is in progress.
