The annual report, commissioned by the Department of Innovation and Economic Development, revealed that Canada was often in the top 3 most expensive countries for wireless prices.
The study used six different categories to measure the price when compared to countries all over the world. Canada ranked as the most expensive in three of the categories. These categories can be seen below.
Level 3: 1,200 minutes, 300 SMS and 1GB of data
Â
Level 4: Unlimited minutes, SMS and 2GB of data
Level 5: Unlimited minutes, SMS and 5GB of data
Canadians can expect some savings on data this month
While the report may seem disappointing, there is some good news. Phone carriers such as Rogers, Bell and Telus are offering 10GB of data for 60$ until Monday.
