A house fire this morning was put out by Central Saanich Fire Crews in the 7700-block of Wallace Drive.
According to CHEK News, one cat perished as a result of the fire that blazed just before 8 AM, but there were no injuries to the occupants or their two dogs.
Sidney/North Saanich volunteer fire crews also helped contain the flames.
The fire caused heavy damage in one of the bedrooms, and there is water and smoke damage throughout the house.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation at this time.
