It was a slower day for the Canadian team yesterday, with no change in the total medal count. Our team is sitting in fifth place for overall counts, with 10 medals (three gold, four silver, three bronze).

Medal hopefuls Tristan Walker and Justin Snith finished in fifth place in the luge doubles. In the 2014 Sochi Games, the pair finished in a devastating 4th place, just inches away from that prime podium spot.

Three pairs qualified for the figure skating short program:

  • Meagan Duhamel and Eric Radford set themselves up for a medal as they finished in third going into the program.
  • Julianne Seguin and Charlie Bilodeau placed 12th.
  • Kirsten Moore-Towers and Michael Marinaro finished in 13th place.

In curling, Canada put up a great fight with Italy, coming in 10th with a score of 5-3. They followed up with a win against Great Britain in a score of 6-4. All in all, the curling is setting themselves up well for a spot on the podium.
