The new Johnson Street Bridge (flying.niimbus/Instagram)

Travellers crossing the Johnson Street Bridge should expect some minor delays on Sunday, July 8, as vehicle lanes are reduced for scheduled paving work.

Paving work will take place from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Esquimalt Road between the west side of the bridge and Harbour Road.

The area will still be accessible for anyone driving, cycling, or walking, but the city says there may be minor delays.

Cyclists using Esquimalt Road are advised that they’ll share space with motor vehicles when travelling through the construction area.

Cyclists and pedestrians can use the multi-use pathway on the north side of the bridge to avoid construction.
