A serious stabbing incident has sent one man to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
According to RCMP, the incident occurred just at about 7:30 pm Wednesday night when an altercation at the Nanaimo tent city led to a stabbing.
Police officers were on the scene at 1 Port Place within minutes after the incident was reported and the 27-year-old victim was rushed to hospital.
An 18-year-old male suspect was located a short distance away and taken into custody without incident. He was arrested on one count of aggravated assault and will make an appearance in Nanaimo provincial court Thursday.
The victim remains in hospital recovering from his injuries.
