Share

Update: According to VicPD, Zanaeh Edgwards-Helgason has been located and is safe.

Approximately one hour after a public assistance request was posted by police, Zanaeh’s mother, Emily Helgason reached out to inform us that her daughter was, in fact, never missing.

“I dont know how it happened, she [is] not missing. She was at school,” Helgason told Victoria Buzz.

“You would think in order for her to be missing they would have had to be able to PROVE she actually hadn’t been by anyone.”

For their part, Victoria Police officials are unable to disclose details about their investigation into the missing person case in order to maintain protocol.

“The officer who was investigating was concerned for her well-being and that’s why we sent out the media release,” Cst. Matt Rutherford told Victoria Buzz.
