Cat lovers have the perfect opportunity to adopt a new four-legged friend this weekend!
To help free up space in animal shelters, the BC SPCA is offering 50% off all adoption fees for adult cats across the province.
The half-price adoption event starts this weekend and will run from July 27th to August 2nd at all 36 BC SPCA locations.
“At this time of year our shelters are always very full, and we have also rescued a large number of cats through cruelty investigations recently, so we’d love to find good homes for as many cats as possible during our half-price event,” said Lorie Chortyk, the BC SPCA’s general manager of communications in a release.

The SPCA is also encouraging potential adopters to check out adult cats who may be overlooked by kittens at shelters.
“Taking an adult cat home offers many benefits,” said Chortyk.
“Older cats tend to be calmer and their personalities have developed so it allows us to make the best match with their potential new guardians.”
