The magic of the 26th annual Victoria Pride Parade has been months in the making, with a festival planned to end the whole colourful affair.

There’s just one glitch.

The Victoria Pride Society is in dire need of volunteers to help them manage the event, all the way from the start of the march til the end of the festival itself.

While the Pride Society is run entirely by volunteers on staff, they require additional help particularly for major events like the annual parade and festival which are regularly attended by thousands of people.

At the moment, the organizers only have around 5 volunteers signed up to help run Sunday’s affair which requires at least 20.

If you’d like to flex your event management skills, your flair for organization, or simply want to get involved in making our city’s Pride Parade happen, sign up to volunteer at this website.

Route

The 26th annual Victoria Pride Parade will be starting at 11 a.m. on Sunday, July 7th at the corner of Pandora and Government.

Thousands of people participating in the event will then continue south on Government, turn west on Belleville and south on Oswego before turning west at Simcoe.

The route then ends at Simcoe and Montreal St before attendees head over to MacDonald Park for the Pride Festival.

This free-for-all-ages party will carry on at the Victoria Pride Festival taking place at MacDonald Park from 12 p.m. – 6 p.m.

For the first time ever, Victoria Buzz will be livestreaming the Pride parade, thanks to our sponsors, the Downtown Victoria Business Association (DVBA)Sitka Law GroupYou Move MeFive Star Whale Watching, and Men in Kilts.
