A popular flavour of Heinz baby food is being recalled across Canada for possibly containing insects, according to Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA).
The recall, which was issued on Friday, is for Kraft Heinz Canada’s Turkey Stew 8+ Months baby food.
- Western Family brand Smoked Salmon Nuggets recalled across BC due to Listeria contamination
- Canada-wide recall issued for BOB Jogging Strollers
The inspection agency advises that those who have purchased the baby food should not consume the product and throw it away, or return it to the store where it was purchased.
According to the CFIA, the recall was triggered after one consumer claimed they found insects within the baby food.
Fortunately, there have been no reports of illness related to the product.
The recall will now remain active until the CFIA completes a food safety inspection.
The baby food was distributed in British Columbia, Saskatchewan, Ontario, Quebec, and Newfoundland and Labrador.
