Victoria Police are asking for the public’s help in their search for missing 64-year-old David Atkins.

Atkins suffers from a health concern and the circumstances surrounding his disappearance puts him at risk of immediate harm.

Police believe he may be in the Sooke area but is also known to frequent the Mount Work area.

He was reported missing late Thursday evening, and VicPD is partnering with Saanich PD and the RCMP in their search for Atkins.

He is described as a slender Caucasian male standing 5’8″ tall with hazel eyes and short, salt and pepper dark brown hair, and is clean shaven.

Atkins often wears loose, baggy clothes with many layers and adorns his clothing with distinctive, homemade symbols, similar to a “no smoking” sign. He was last seen wearing a sweatshirt and sweat pants.
