The power of social media has prevailed once again!

Earlier today, Mr. Mikes Steakhouse Restaurant in Langford posted a video to their Facebook showing a woman stealing a stuffed animal that was meant to be donated.

The restaurant is collecting stuffed animals for kids in the pediatric ward at the Victoria General Hospital.

The suspect can be seen on a security camera leaving the restaurant just before 12:30 a.m. on Sunday. She is with a group of five people and is the last person out the door – the video shows her grab the giraffe and quickly run out of the restaurant.

Later in the day, the woman contacted the restaurant admitting she was the one who took the giraffe and offered to replace the donation with new ones.

This is the third year Mr. Mike’s is accepting donations for their stuffie drive. On Sunday, December 15th, customers can donate a new stuffed animal or toy for a free appetizer.

The stuffies are given to children who are stuck at the hospital over the holidays.
