This hole-in-the-wall Victoria restaurant has some of the most authentic Lebanese food in town

Did you know we have a legit Lebanese restaurant in town? Falafel, Shawarma, Baba Ganoush or Tabouli Salad strike your fancy?

Enter Wrap N Roll:

About 13 months ago, we were driving back from one of our radio segments and we drove by this place that we had always assumed was some kind of Subway rip-off.

Looking for a new spot to feature on an upcoming segment, we decided to check out their Google reviews and, lo and behold, the rating was solid – so we stopped for a look.

We immediately realized the error of our ways as the owner, Moe, welcomed us with open arms and let us try some of his personalized baklava and a wrap each.

We ended up meeting the whole crew.

Skip ahead to today and this place holds a special place in my heart.

Whether it’s the familiar game of backgammon being played outside nearly every night, the level of hospitality shown inside, or one of Moe’s nightly (off menu and unadvertised) feature dishes – this place is pretty special!

One of my favourite things about the restaurant is that every single time I visit, I will have a meaningful interaction with at least one person I don’t know, and also see plenty of familiar faces.

In short, they have cultivated a culture of warmth and inclusion.

If you swipe left on the video above, the 3 pictures were the off-menu specials that Moe felt inspired to make that night to share with everyone:

An Artichoke and Beef Dish, a Donair Pizza (including beef tenderloin) and Qatayef Asafiri (an amazing sweet dish).

I cannot recommend strongly enough that you stop by and give them a try if you haven’t already!

The must-try list includes some of their homemade fries in whatever wrap you decide on (the Makanek Wrap is my favourite).
