One of the world’s most recognizable and cheekiest figures is coming to Vancouver Island.
Russell Brand, an actor, comedian, and podcast host is bringing his Recovery Live show to Canada, starting in Victoria at the Farquhar Auditorium on April 5, 2020.
According to the event’s Facebook page, Brand will discuss his heroin addiction and subsequent recovery at the Farquhar, as well as offering advice and help for those battling their own personal demons.
The show is a “funny and profane” mix of Brand’s comedy and life story, with programs and advice for the audience.
“This could be the thing you have been looking for and it’s weird that this is the way you’re going to find it,” the event’s description reads.

Tickets start at $60.50 and go as high as $230 for tickets and a VIP package. The package includes a 45-minute workshop led by Brand himself, 15 minutes after the live show is over.
Brand is very open about his struggles with heroin in an effort to destigmatize addiction and substance abuse. In 2013, he visited Insite, a safe-injection site in Vancouver, and called it the city’s “crown jewel.”
