5 things to do in and around Victoria this Monday, January 27th

Enjoy learning about the best food Victoria has to offer with a walking tour!

Starting at the Public Market and weaving its way through Fan Tan Alley, the harbour, Bastion Square, and elsewhere, it’s a fun way to eat food and learn more about the city. 

Whether you’re into that or something a little different, here are five things to do in Victoria this Monday, January 27th!

A Taste of Victoria Food Tour

This 2-hour tour begins at the Victoria Public Market and includes stops at The Gates of Harmonious Interest, Fan Tan Alley, Market Square, Bastion Square, Trounce Alley, Government St., and the Inner Harbour Causeway.

Depending on the day, there are between 6-8 tastings along the route, as we discuss the history and quirks of beautiful Victoria, B.C. Tastings can include bread, pierogis, meatballs, craft beer, macarons, chocolate, and much more!

  • When: 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
  • Where: Starts at the Victoria Public Market, 1701 Douglas Street #6

Grandparent’s Class

This informal, discussion-based Grandparents’ Class teaches the latest on newborn care. The Mothering Touch Centre will lead discussions with up-to-date information on breastfeeding, safe sleeping practices, car-seat regulations, and how to play with baby. The centre will also give grandparents a chance to explore new ideas about parenting and how they can support their adult children in their new role as parents!

  • When: 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Where: Mothering Touch, 975 Fort Street

Christie’s Pub Monday Night Trivia

Head out for an evening of several rounds of complete random obscure knowledge including movies, music, sports, science, geography and possible things found in a hardware store …who knows!

  • When: 7:30 p.m. to 10 p.m.
  • Where: Christies Carriage House Pub, 1739 Fort Street

Live Music at the Victoria Public Market

The Victoria Public Market at the Hudson highlights local artisans, farmers, butchers, bakers, preservers, brewers, vintners, florists and restaurateurs — and musicians! Every Monday, Saturday, and Sunday, Live Music at the Market features some of Victoria’s most talented musicians playing for all marketgoers.
