Driver crashes on Quadra Street after attempting to flee police (VIDEO)

Quadra Street has reopened following an intense police incident on Tuesday morning.

Quadra Street was closed between Fisgard Street and Caledonia Avenue after a vehicle fleeing from police collided with a parked car.

According to VicPD, officers attempted to stop the vehicle just after 10:30 a.m., near the intersection of Cook Street and Pandora Avenue. The driver of the vehicle refused to stop and crashed moments later at Quadra and North Park Streets.

Video from the scene shows multiple police cruisers surrounding the vehicle, and dozens of officers, some heavily armed, arresting at least four individuals. It is believed they were between the ages of 18 to 24.

A major police incident just occurred outside the Glad Tiding church on Quadra Street. Dozens of officers took down at least four people at gun point. Witnesses say one person attempted to flee, but was apprehended. It is believed all four suspects were between the ages of 18-24. There were roughly 20 police officers and 12 cruisers on scene. One occupant was transported to hospital by Emergency Health Services.

One VicPD officer received non-life-threatening injuries during the incident.

Police are continuing to investigate.
