Nanaimo man breaks into daycare, jumps out of second floor window to flee

Nanaimo RCMP are searching for a suspect who allegedly broke into a daycare, then jumped out a second storey window to escape.

According to police, the incident took place at 8 a.m. on Monday, March 23rd at the Jolly Jumper Daycare located at 1135 Dufferin Crescent.

Officers learned that the caretaker and another employee at the daycare were in the process of opening up for the day when they noticed that the cash box had been moved.

At the same time, they heard a noise coming from the the second floor. Moments later, a man jumped out the second floor window and started running away.

Before he fled, the caretaker was able to take two pictures of the suspect, shown above.
