It’s safe to say graduation is going to look a little different for all grads across Greater Victoria this year amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
But one local high school wants to celebrate the graduation class of 2020 in a unique way, looking to show their support for grads while still maintaining proper physical distancing.
Esquimalt High School has announced they will be hosting a drive-by car parade on Saturday, June 20th and is encouraging the community of Esquimalt to attend roadside to cheer grads on.
The parade will start at 1 p.m. next Saturday and the route will kick-off at Esquimalt Recreation Centre, where it will continue throughout the township before finishing at Esquimalt High School.
According to a post on the school’s Facebook page, there will be 95 cars in the parade, and spots along the route where the public can watch, like the Rockheights Middle School field and Memorial Park.
