It looks like the sunshine is finally here to stay, and we have compiled a list of five things to do in and around Victoria on this gorgeous day.
As you head out to activities and events, please follow the restrictions and guidelines that these businesses require to keep their employees and patrons safe during the pandemic.
As always, wash your hands, wear masks, practice physical distancing, and stay home if you feel sick or show symptoms!
Without further ado, here are five things to do today, Monday July 20th:
Pagliacci’s restaurant at Broad & Fort is bringing live music back to its patio, free of cover charge. This Thursday diners can listen to Scott White and Chris Frye playing a broad range of jazz, R&B, country and even some old school rock.

- When: 3 p.m. – 5 p.m.
- Cost: Free with dine-in
Gigi’s Cafe open mic is back! Come on out for a casual night; all skill levels and genres welcome. Seating capacity of 10 for this event; reservations are welcome but not required. The wearing of masks is appreciated!
2 songs each or perform 10 minutes of material (comedy, poetry, etc.). Doors open at 6:30.
- When: 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
- Where: Gigi’s Cafe, 1002 Hillside Avenue
For rounds of complete random obscure knowledge including movies, music, sports, science, geography and possible things found in a hardware store …who knows!
- When: 7:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
- Where: Christie’s Carriage House Pub, 1730 Fort Street
A free, social 1km walk, 3km jog, or 5km run every Monday at 5:30pm starting May, 2020. The Run takes place on the flat route along the Lochside and Galloping Goose trails, and offers a great course for all runners, dogs, and fitness levels. No pressure vibe, and no one is left behind.
- When: 5:30 p.m.
- Where: Meet at 5:15pm at the endūr HQ (111-3680 Uptown Blvd/ behind Browns Socialhouse at the Uptown Shopping Centre) or 5:25pm at the bike rack/ water fountain near Lochside and Galloping Goose Junction.
NY Style Salsa (Mambo) is danced to the rhythm of the congas and the techniques used allow for quick turns and direction changes, complex partner patterns and more body movement while dancing. Cha Cha Cha is a fun dance with a playful energy that uses a very similar step to Salsa and learning them together will help you understand and be better at both
