Campbell River RCMP have arrested 38-year-old Christopher Lloyd Dixon who was wanted on multiple sexual assault charges stemming from Prince George in 2017.

According to police, he was apprehended on July 17 and his arrest was made possible due to public sightings after they were informed of Dixon’s presence on Vancouver Island through multiple media articles.

“This is an excellent example of how the public, media and police can work together to help make their community safer,” said Cst. Maury Tyre.

“People were aware that Dixon may have been in the community thanks to media articles, somebody saw him and called police and that led to the police being able to zone in on his whereabouts and apprehend him.”

Dixon was charged with sexual assault sexual interference, and sexual exploitation after an investigation by Prince George RCMP back in August 2017.

His victims, allegedly, were an adult male and a girl under the age of 18.

Two years later, an arrest warrant was issued in September 2019 after Dixon failed to appear in court.

He is now in police custody in Campbell River.
