Check out this Microsoft Flight Simulator flyover of downtown Victoria (VIDEO)

If you’ve ever fantasized about buzzing over the legislature or performing loop-de-loops over the Johnson Street Bridge, Microsoft Flight Simulator has a treat for you.

The latest release in the long-running series of flight simulator video games has a built-in feature that allows users to generate environments based on Bing map data.

One Youtuber, “The Goose Roost,” posted a video on Thursday showing a three minute flyby over downtown Victoria in a Cessna 152 plane.

Popular landmarks are visible, including the BC legislature and the Empress Hotel, albeit with some choppy rendering.

The map data is also little outdated, with architecture landmarks like the old Johnson Street blue bridge visible.

Still, if you’re looking for a way to break the COVID-19 fatigue and live out your pilot fantasies, this is definitely one way to do it!
