VicPD are seeking any potential witnesses in a sexual assault that occurred on the Galloping Goose Trail near Tyee and Harbour Roads Tuesday evening.
Police responded to a report at approximately 8:30 p.m. on September 15 to a report that a man had attacked and sexually assaulted a woman on the Galloping Goose Trail.
The victim reported she was able to fight the man off and called 911. Officers flooded the area, armed with a description of the suspect provided by the woman.
Police spotted the suspect and pursued him on foot, but he managed to briefly elude officers. A search perimeter was set up and a K9 team was able to locate and arrest the suspect.
He received non-life-threatening injuries from the K9 team during his arrest, and declined medical aid. The suspect was taken to cells, where he remains in custody.
The victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the attack.
VicPD says the file is still under investigation and are seeking anyone with information about the incident.
