Victoria Police is releasing the identity of the last suspect with an outstanding warrant in connection with a drug trafficking ring out of Centennial Square.
28-year-old Kyle Harvey is wanted on two outstanding unendorsed warrants for drug trafficking related to an investigation into drug activity and violence in Centennial Square.
So far, police have arrested 16 out of 17 people for drug trafficking and related charges after an investigation that began due to an increase in violent crime in the area, including an incident where windows at City Hall were shot with a pellet gun and a pair of stabbings on August 10th.
Between August 11 to 15, undercover officers in the Centennial Square area posed as customers and bought drugs from tents in Centennial Square, including methamphetamine, cocaine, psilocybin and fentanyl.
Tents in the square were used for drug trafficking in a rotating system. On some days, a tent could house a sleeping person, and on others, bedding would be removed and drug transactions would be conducted.
As a result of the investigation, 15 men and two women face a total of 18 charges in connection with the drug trafficking ring, and Harvey remains the only suspect that is at large.
Now, VicPD have released a description of the suspect in hopes that the public can help with their search.
He is described as a Caucasian man standing 5’10” tall, weighing about 170 lbs, with short brown hair and brown eyes.
Harvey has several tattoos including the word ‘life’ on his right wrist and the word ‘death’ on his left wrist.
Anyone who sees him is asked to call 911.
Those who have information on his whereabouts are asked to contact VicPD at 250-995-7654 and press #1 to speak with the report desk. To report what you know anonymously, call Greater Victoria Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
