Oak Bay Police say they have closed off traffic in a section of the municipality after a sudden death.
Police Chief Ray Bernoties posted on Twitter that a young man who was pruning a tree on McNeill Ave near Byng Street has died suddenly.
McNeil closed at Byng to all traffic including pedestrians. Tragically, it is the scene of a sudden death of young man who was tree cutting. It is not suspicious, however, detectives and forensic ident are also at scene as it is worksafe incident. Please avoid the area. pic.twitter.com/G52KNGsBqG

The area is closed to all traffic, including pedestrians, as authorities investigate.
His death is not considered suspicious.
Police and WorkSafe BC officials are responding to the incident as it is classified as a workplace accident.
