For the second time in less than two weeks, a middle school in Courtenay has had to close its doors while police investigate a threat.
Lake Trail Middle School cancelled all classes as Comox Valley RCMP worked to determine the credibility of the latest threat.
The incident follows a similar one on November 26 that led to the arrest of a youth on possible charges of uttering threats.
Comox Valley RCMP said they are working closely with School District 71 to ensure the safety of staff, students, and residents in the area.
Police said they would release more information when it becomes available. The investigation is still in its initial stages.
