VicPD officers seized drugs and a number of weapons including two firearms from a suspect who led them on a brief foot chase.

Officers first spotted the suspect as they were pursuing a drug trafficking investigation in the 700-block of Queens Avenue at approximately 12:30 a.m. Friday morning.

The man saw the officers and fled on a bicycle. Patrol officers gave chase on foot and arrested the man in the 2300-block of Government Street.

A search of the man produced methamphetamine and fentanyl, evidence of drug trafficking, three different knives, a .38 calibre revolver and a 9 mm rifle, and ammunition.

Photographs of the knives and firearms are below.

The suspect was transported to cells at VicPD where he was held to await court.

He was found to be in breach of a court-ordered curfew for previous offences, as well as in violation of release conditions prohibiting him from possessing weapons of any kind.

The suspect faces charges of unauthorized possession of a firearm, breach of an undertaking, and obstructing a police officer.

VicPD are continuing their drug trafficking investigation.
