The B.C. Ministry of Health reported 407 new cases of COVID-19 across the province Tuesday, for a total of 65,234 cases since the pandemic began.
New cases were reported in these health regions:
- Vancouver Coastal Health: 124
- Fraser Health: 169
- Island Health: 22
- Interior Health: 54
- Northern Health: 38
The number of active cases in B.C. decreased from 4,392 to 4,260.
There are now a total of 313 people in hospital due to COVID-19, 71 of whom are in critical care — ICU or acute care units.
14 more people have died from COVID-related causes, bringing the provincial death toll to 1,168.
6,450 people are in isolation, under active public health monitoring after exposure to COVID-19.
A total of 58,352 people have recovered from novel coronavirus.
Outbreaks
No new additional outbreaks were reported, while one ongoing outbreak was declared over at the German-Canadian Benevolent Society.
In total, there are 28 assisted-living, long-term care homes, seniors’ rental buildings and 10 acute-care facilities with ongoing COVID-19 outbreaks.

Island Health
22 new cases were reported in Island Health on Tuesday.
There are 195 active cases remaining in the region, according to Island Health. By Health Service Delivery Area, they are:
- South Island: 22 | Total cases: 418
- Central Island: 157| Total cases: 785
- North Island: 16 | Total cases: 274
One new death was reported in the Island Health region, for a total of 19 deaths to date.
15 people are currently hospitalized in the Island Health region, including five people in intensive care units.

Vaccinations
To date, 118,254 people have received a COVID-19 vaccine in B.C. 4,105 of those people have received their second dose.
