Nanaimo man threatens Superstore employee when caught stealing a blender

Nanaimo RCMP have released a surveillance photo of a man accused of stealing a blender from the Real Canadian Superstore and threatening an employee.

Police say the incident occurred at approximately 2:50 p.m. on Saturday, January 9th.

According to police, the suspect stole a blender, valued at $150 from the Real Canadian Superstore in Nanaimo. When he was confronted by an employee, the suspect made threats of bodily harm then proceeded to leave the store.

Police attended and reviewed video surveillance, which showed the suspect walking out of the business with the blender tucked under his arm.

Employees followed the suspect from a distance, and observed him leaving in a burgundy coloured Nissan Frontier pickup. No license plate was obtained.

The suspect is described as a white male, standing approximately 6 feet tall and weighing about 190 pounds. He was wearing a grey jacket with a black hoodie underneath, black baseball cap, jeans and a blue medical face mask.
