BC SPCA puts out call for 2022 pet calendar entries

Share

The BC SPCA is calling all fur-parents to share photos of their beloved companions for a chance at a spot in their 2022 calendar.

Sponsored by Hill’s Pet Nutrition, the calendar will be available for purchase through the BC SPCA website in fall 2021.

“With the events of the last year, many of us have been able to spend more time than ever with our pets,” says Tess Repenning, senior manager of digital giving for the BC SPCA.

“We know there are lots of animal-lovers out there with a camera roll full of pictures of their pets and our annual Calendar Contest is the perfect way to share them while raising urgently needed funds for homeless, abused and injured animals.”

Entries for the calendar can be submitted online from February 11 to 28. People will then be invited to vote by donation for their favourite entry.

The 13 animals (12 months and one cover) with the most votes at midnight on Feb28, 2021 will win a spot in the 2022 BC SPCA Calendar.

An additional entry will be selected as Hill’s Honourable Mention, which will be printed in the calendar.

The top winning cover entry will also receive a pet portrait.

Donor voters who sign up with donations of $25 or more on the contest’s Feb. 11 launch day will also receive 25 bonus votes through Hill’s.

Repenning says the fundraiser is a boon to the BC SPCA and raised over $150,000 last year.

More information on the contest is available online at spca.bc.ca/calendar.
