West Shore RCMP are investigating a reported indecent act that occurred at View Royal Elementary.

On Monday, April 12th, after school got out at approximately 3:15 p.m, a man entered the school grounds and exposed himself to two young girls who were playing in the field.

The girls, aged 11 and 5, ran away from the man and reported the incident to a staff member.

The suspect was described as Caucasian with short dark hair, clean shaven, and wearing blue jeans and a possible two-tone jacket with black in the middle area. He appeared to be between 30 to 40 years old.

Officers along with K9 services canvassed the area, but were unsuccessful in finding anyone that matched the description of the suspect.

“This is the kind of incident that garners a visceral response from both the public and the officers responding to the call,” said Constable Meighan Massey.

“We are conducting a thorough and methodical investigation into the incident. Kudos to the two girls who kept their wits about them, got themselves to the school monitor and reported right away.”

Investigators are asking for anyone in the area to check home and vehicle surveillance equipment for any possible images of a man matching the description provided.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact the West Shore RCMP at (250) 474-2264.
