Driver and passenger flee scene of rollover crash in Colwood Monday night

Police are searching for a driver and a number of passenger who fled from a crash scene after a single vehicle rollover crash in Colwood.

Officers were alerted shortly after 7 p.m. Monday, September 27th, that a driver in a grey Mazda lost control in the 700 block of Kelly Road.

In a media release, West Shore RCMP said the vehicle was travelling westbound before crashing into a culvert. The impact of the crash caused the Mazda to flip in the air and ultimately hit a utility pole before landing on its roof.

Witnesses at the scene told RCMP officers that a man and woman were seen walking out of the vehicle and leaving the scene of the collision.

“The initial cause of the collision remains unknown,” said Cst. Alex Bérubé, spokesperson for the West Shore RCMP.
