The BC Ministry of Health reported 584 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday, October 29th.
There have been 204,914 cases of COVID-19 since the pandemic began.
New cases were reported in these health regions:
- Vancouver Coastal Health: 81
- Fraser Health: 232
- Island Health: 82
- Interior Health: 85
- Northern Health: 104
- Resident outside Canada: 0
There are currently 4,982 active cases of COVID-19 in the province.
197,396 people who tested positive have recovered.
There are now a total of 436 people in hospital due to COVID-19, 156 of whom are in critical care — ICU or acute care units.
9 new people have died from COVID-related causes, making the provincial death toll 2,156.

From Oct. 21-27, people not fully vaccinated accounted for 65.1% of cases.
From Oct. 14-27, they accounted for 73.8% of hospitalizations.

Outbreaks
There have been no new health-care facility outbreaks in the province.
There are a total of 33 active outbreaks.
There are currently no active healthcare outbreaks in the Island Health region.
There has been one new outbreak at Vancouver Island Regional Correctional Centre.
Island Health:
Island Health reported 82 new cases of COVID-19 in the Vancouver Island region and 520 active cases.
Breakdown of cases on Vancouver Island:
- South Vancouver Island Active cases: 140 │Total Cases: 4413
- Central Vancouver Island Active cases: 324 │ Total Cases: 4897
- North Vancouver Island Active cases: 56 │Total Cases: 1304
58 people remain in hospital with 26 in ICU.
There were 2 new deaths reported in the Island Health region today, and a total of 91 deaths on Vancouver Island.
Vaccinations
As of Friday, Oct. 29, 2021, 89.8% of eligible people 12 and older in B.C. have received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine and 85.0% have received their second dose.
In addition, 90.3% of all eligible adults in B.C. have received their first dose and 85.6% have received their second dose.
To date, 8,218,844 (+16,294) doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in BC; 3,940,563 (+6,967) of which are second doses.
