Campbell River RCMP investigating stabbing incident from Sunday

RCMP are asking for public assistance with any information relating to a stabbing incident early Sunday morning in Campbell River.

On Sunday November 7th, at 1:39 a.m. officers responded to a report from paramedics that a 35-year-old Indigenous man was being treated for a serious and life-threatening stab wound. 

The victim was quickly transported to hospital to be treated.

According to a release by the Campbell River RCMP, the victim is now in stable condition. 

Following the incident, officers interviewed local witnesses and conducted a forensic examination of the scene. 

“The investigation is ongoing and it is believed to be an isolated incident,” said Constable Maury Tyre. 

“At this point in time, we are looking to talk to any eyewitnesses that have not identified themselves to police.”
