Oak Bay Police seeking to identify man who attempted to rob liquor store with a screwdriver

Oak Bay police are seeking the identity of a man who attempted to rob a liquor store with a weapon and instead took off with a pack of beer last week. 

On Tuesday, October 26th, Oak Bay police responded to a call of a robbery in progress at a liquor store located in the 2600 block of Cadboro Bay Road. 

The suspect entered the business brandishing a screwdriver and demanded money.

No money was taken during the incident, however, before leaving the store, the suspect stole a fifteen pack of Lucky beer. 

The suspect fled on foot, heading southbound on Cadboro Bay Road. 

CCTV cameras captured the suspect’s movement in the store. 

The suspect is said to be Caucasian, 45 to 50 years old with a slim build and a clean shaven face. 

At the time of the incident, the suspect was wearing a blue surgical mask, a green long sleeve shirt with buttons near the collar, blue tapered jogging pants and black shoes. 

The employee was not injured in the incident.
