Nanaimo RCMP are seeking the public’s help after several items displayed outside the Nanaimo Family Life Association building were stolen over the past month.

Several red dresses, symbolizing the spirits of missing and murdered Indigenous women and children, as well as an LGBTQ+ flag were on display outside the building, before they were all stolen.

According to reports, the flag was first to be stolen before the four dresses were taken within the span of three weeks.

The first theft was reported on November 24th and the last incident occurred on December 11th or 12th.

There are currently no suspects or witnesses.

‘Investigators are presently working with staff to assess and update their security systems to hopefully prevent these incidents from reoccurring, “said Constable Gary O’Brien of the Nanaimo RCMP.

If you have information regarding these incidents, you are asked to call the Nanaimo RCMP non-emergency line at 250 754 2345.
