Surprise, surprise… rent is on the rise!
According to Zumper.com’s Canadian rent report for January 2022, Victoria is the third most expensive Canadian city for renters.
The monthly report is generated by analyzing rental data from hundreds of thousands of active listings across Canada.
According to the report, which compared the average prices of one-bedroom rentals, Vancouver tops the list with the most expensive rent prices.
Vancouver was the only city that had one-bedrooms priced above the $2,000 threshold.
Toronto comes in second, followed by our very own Victoria.
Since January 2020, the average price of a one-bedroom rental in Victoria has jumped 14.3%, 4.5% of that just in the last month.
The average price of a one bedroom in Victoria is $1,840, only $10 below Toronto’s average.
