BC health officials report 1,318 new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday, February 10th

The BC Ministry of Health reported 1,318 new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday, February 10th.

There have been 337,547 cases of COVID-19 since the pandemic began.

New cases were reported in these health regions:

  • Vancouver Coastal Health: 168
  • Fraser Health: 275
  • Island Health: 199
  • Interior Health: 444
  • Northern Health: 232
  • Resident outside Canada: none

As of today, the number of active cases and those that have discontinued isolation have been removed from the COVID-19 pandemic update and will no longer be updated on the daily BCCDC dashboard.

There are now a total of 867 people in hospital with COVID-19, 138 of whom are in critical care — ICU or acute care units.

Five new people have died from COVID-related causes, including two in Island Health, making the provincial death toll 2,730.

Outbreaks

There has been one new healthcare facility outbreak at Chartwell Langley Gardens (Fraser Health).

The outbreaks at Evergreen House (Vancouver Coastal Health) and Creekside Landing (Interior Health) have been declared over.

There are a total of 53 ongoing healthcare outbreaks in the province.

There are currently 26 health care outbreaks in the Island Health region.

Vaccinations

As of Thursday, February 10th:

  • 11,043,787 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in BC.
  • 93.1% of eligible people 12 and older in BC have received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine, and 90.4% have received their second dose.
  • 93.4% of all eligible adults in BC have received their first dose, and 90.9% have received their second dose.
