VicPD are seeking dashcam footage and information after a random attack on a motorist in Victoria this past weekend.

At approximately 6:45 p.m. on Sunday, March 6th, officers responded to a report of a brick being thrown through a window of an occupied vehicle at the intersection of Douglas and Johnson Streets.

Once on scene, officers learned the suspect didn’t throw a brick, but a Himalayan salt rock.

The rock shattered the window of the grey Toyota Prius and struck the driver, who was also struck by the broken glass.

The driver suffered non-life-threatening injuries and received treatment on scene from paramedics.

The suspect was last seen walking eastbound on Johnson Street and Douglas Street.

He is described as a 50-year-old Caucasian man with a medium build and long gray hair.

At the time of the incident he was wearing a black winter coat with a fur-trimmed hood.

Officers are asking anyone with dashcam footage of the incident or any other information that may help in the investigation to come forward by calling the VicPD at (250) 995-7654.

To report what you know anonymously, call Greater Victoria Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
