A free harm reduction event hoping to reduce stigma will be live-streamed this month

Is harm reduction a gateway to recovery?

This is one of the many questions that will be discussed at Threshold Housing Society’s Youth Harm Reduction event later this month.

Harm reduction is an approach or strategy aimed at reducing the risks and harmful effects associated with substance use for the individual, the community and society as a whole.

For the past 31 years, Threshold Housing has been providing housing and support to at-risk youth in Greater Victoria.

The organization houses vulnerable youth, increases connections to community-based support and provides individualized case management, as every person is different and requires unique support and solutions.

On June 16th, Guy Felicella, Dr. Bernie Pauly and more will be keynote speakers at the harm reduction event, which will be live streamed online.

Experts, people with lived experience and researchers will make up a panel as they aim to share knowledge, reduce stigma, and inform discourse on youth harm reduction practices.

And it’s completely free for the public to view!
