The first-ever Spot Prawn and Fiddle Fest is happening in James Bay this month

Share

Do you dream of biting into a sweet and succulent spot prawn meal to the sound of West Coast, Irish, Celtic, and Métis fiddling while taking in an exhibition game of youth rugby?

This month, the James Bay Athletic Association will be hosting its first annual Spot Prawn and Fiddle Fest which features all of the above, in celebration of the return of connection, summer concerts and events.

Sounds like a perfect Sunday to us!

The free, family-friendly event will take place on June 12th at MacDonald Park, featuring rugby exhibitions, vendors, a fiddle contest, beverage garden and more.

Proceeds from the beverage garden and vendor activations will go toward creating a development officer position for youth in rugby at the club, with an eye on future growth of all existing programming.

James Bay’s Finest at Sea is the event’s banner sponsor. For those hungry attendees, there will  be several food trucks and a fresh prawn BBQ.

There will also be performances from west coast fiddle legends, a fiddle contest and more.

Anyone interested in volunteering at the event can find information on how to apply here.
