One person is in hospital after a shooting in Nanaimo Thursday night.

In a media release, Nanaimo RCMP said they are investigating a shooting that left one person with serious non-life threatening injuries.

At approximately 8 p.m. on July 7th, numerous officers responded to reports of a shooting outside a Nanaimo residence.

The injured person, a man in his early 30’s, was treated on scene by paramedics before being transported to the hospital. 

Police spoke with several witnesses who said they observed the suspect flee in a vehicle. No other details were released.

“There were no other reported injuries and from information gathered to date, this appears to have been an isolated incident,” said Constable Gary O’Brien of the Nanaimo RCMP.

Anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has further information is asked to contact the Nanaimo RCMP at (250) 754-2345.
