Downtown Duncan stabbing leads to death of 33-year-old man

The Vancouver Island Integrated Major Crime Unit (VIIMCU) are investigating the death of a 33-year-old man that occurred in Duncan early Saturday morning.

According North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP, officers responded to a call of an injured man at around 3 a.m. in the area of Kenneth and Jubilee Streets.

Officers located the man with stab wounds. He was transported to hospital where he later died from his injuries.

The man is from Duncan and RCMP are notifying his next of kin.

Police said Investigators closed off a wide area as it appears the victim moved through the downtown core before being located.

“We are asking anyone that may have heard or seen what happened or has any information about the incident to please call police,” said Dawn Roberts with the BC RCMP. 

Police said they have no information to indicate that there is any threat to the public.
