Logging truck driver hospitalized after vehicle rolls near Campbell River

A logging truck driver was airlifted to hospital Wednesday after their logging truck rolled-over on a forestry road south of Campbell River.

According to Campbell River Fire Rescue, the driver was the sole occupant and was pinned in the vehicle.

The incident occurred at around 11:15 a.m. about 10 km from the Cranberry Road and Inland Island Highway intersection on Piggott Main Road.

The driver of the vehicle suffered serious injuries and was airlifted to Victoria General Hospital—he was conscious when fire crews used equipment to extricate him.

It’s unclear at this time what caused the rollover crash.
