Lake Cowichan grandmother and granddaughter duo nab $675,000 lottery win

Christmas has come early for one Lake Cowichan family.

Patricia Weaver and Erin Roberston, a grandmother and granddaughter duo, got the surprise of their lives when they learned they had won $675,000 playing Set for Life.

“I was at home and had to check on my phone to let it sink in,” said Robertson.

Meanwhile, Robertson’s Grandmother, Weaver, was in disbelief after learning they won.

“Unbelievable. I buy tickets hoping to win, but never expect it to be me,” she said.

Robertson and Weaver purchased their golden ticket at a Walmart on Drinkwater Road in Duncan.

With their newly found wealth, Christmas is going to be far more exciting for the duo who plan on treating their family to an all inclusive trip to Maui.

Weaver and Robertson’s recent bout of good fortune marks the third major lottery win to come from Vancouver Island within the last two weeks.
